Hey folks,
I haven’t written a blog post awhile because I haven’t had much information to share. Besides keeping up with my course work, spending time with Charlie, and trying to get my staying permit figured out, we haven’t had a lot going on. I have officially been here for 6 months. It seems crazy how fast time has flown by. At this time last year, Manuel and I were here visiting. It’s really strange to think how much has changed over the course of only one year.
The last few months here have been extremely hot. I know in many parts of Germany heat records have been set for the temperature- it’s consistently been in the 90’s. Since I am from Nebraska, I am no stranger to heat. However, when hardly anywhere has air conditioning here (seriously, only the Mall and TJ Maxx has it) it is miserable! We have been trying to keep cool and are really looking forward to fall!
Speaking of Fall, we have a lot of exciting things coming up! I will be starting my last year at University of Denver, if everything works out I should be graduating with my Master’s in the Spring of 2016. Normally, I only take one 4 hour class at a time but this quarter I have decided to go full-time and take 12 hours. On top of those classes, I will be switching schools (to one closer to our apartment) for my German class. I will be starting a B1 course (hopefully I can keep up) and then once I am finished with B1 I should be able to speak fairly fluent, and find a job! Yey!
At the end of October, my parents will be visit for a week and we are really excited to have them! And as soon as they leave, I will be returning to The States for a few months. I really wanted to be home for the holiday’s and since my German language class will end at the end of October (this is what my staying permit is based on) then it was easiest to just make a very long vacation. Charlie is going to be flying with me in the cabin and I am really nervous about this. First, with his kennel, he has to be able to fit under my seat and weight less than 20 pounds. Currently he is at about 14. Hopefully he doesn’t grow much more so he can fit! I am also nervous on how it will all work out. It’s going to be a long 16 hours if he decides he doesn’t want to be in his kennel anymore. So if any has ever flown with a dog before- any advice is much appreciated! As soon as we get back to the US, I will be traveling to Denver for a friend’s wedding. I am really excited that I will get to see a lot of people that I have missed, as well as finally getting to see the University of Denver. It’s funny that I don’t even know what the campus looks like even though I am paying them huge amounts of money 🙂
Manuel will be joining me in the States for Christmas and then we will both return in early January. I think during our trip we will have to visit the Omaha Zoo since he hasn’t been yet (and I love it there, seriously no other Zoo I have ever been to even comes close).
For those of you that are friends with me on Facebook, you might have noticed that I am currently dropping again with Omnitrition. I am in my second round this year and currently I have lost 27.8 pounds in 35 dropping days! I feel so much better about myself and my end goal is in sight! I am so thankful that I was able to find these products as make a change for the better.
That is all the update I have for you this time. I hope everyone is having a good summer, hopefully I will be able to see some of you when we are back this Winter!
