My Daily Makeup Routine

One question that I get asked all the time on Instagram is what I use for my daily make-up routine. Because so many of you were interested, I figured it was time to share! Now, full disclosure, I am no make-up artist! I feel like there are things I can do well, and other things that I totally suck at.

One of the things that was super hard for me was filling in my eyebrows. I couldn’t do it right so I ended up getting my eyebrows micro-bladed (check that out here). It was the best decision ever!

Now, on to my daily routine… on the days I get ready, I typically don’t spend more than 5-10 minutes on my makeup. I love being about to quickly apply and then get on with my day! Which means that I don’t do any crazy conturing, or really anything difficult.

I start with a good base – depending on my skin and the time of year, I will use different serums and lotions. Once I have my skin prepped, I then apply foundation.

I have tried so many different foundations! My skin is combination and super acne prone so I have to be careful with what I use. I have two different foundations that I love!

No7® Stay Perfect Foundation and NYX Professional Makeup Total Control Drop Foundation. For summer, I wear the No 7 in Warm Ivory. And when I am not so tan, I wear NYX Porcelain.

They have great buildable coverage so I can decide how much I need each day. And I love how easily they go on – plus they feel super light and don’t irritate my skin!

I love using this brush to apply my foundation.

After the foundation, I apply a finishing or bronzing powder. This really helps my makeup stay in place and control the shine.

Then I apply blush on my cheekbones. This blush is amazing. I feel like I have used it for forever and it last so long! I also think the color “In Love” is perfect for my skin tone – not too pink or too tan.

Finally, I work on my eyes. My favorite palette right now is this Pixi palette – the colors are gorgeous and stay on forever! And this eyeliner isn’t lying when it says “tattoo” it will stay on all day without moving! I typically only wear brown eyeliner because black looks way too stark on my eyes.

And since I wear fake eyelashes, there is no need for mascara – which is one less step in the morning! If you are wanting to try fake eyelashes, I can’t recommend Lashify enough! It takes me about 5 minutes to put them on myself and they will last about 4-6 days.

And finally, I will spray my face with a setting spray. I love this NYX one because it is so inexpensive but helps my makeup stay matte and in place all day!
