Whether you work from home or need a few organizational tips, you have come to the right place. Being organized is important in all aspects of life- not just business. Feeling unorganized can cause anxiety and lead to chaos. It is good to declutter your space and even use self storage, and these tips, to make your living situation less chaotic. These are five of my most important tips for staying organized and working toward living a stress-free life!
1. Workspace
Create a spot in your home dedicated to work. Make sure this table or desk is free from clutter. By having one spot for work, this will make it easier to locate important papers and will help rid yourself from distractions. Trust me, trying to work from the couch or bed is not a good idea!
2. Planner/ Agenda
I don’t know what I would do without my planner- it keeps me on track. I use my planner to write down important dates, birthdays, meetings, doctors appointments and my blogging schedule. Having one place for everything helps me because I don’t have to worry about leaving behind another notebook, switching back and forth between apps or worry about technology failing.
3. Clock
Having a clock or timer in your workspace will help keep you on track. So will setting time limits for the tasks you are working on. Don’t forget about breaks, as well. It’s just as important to take a few minutes to get up and stretch, have a snack and stay hydrated- just don’t take too long of a break (or get caught up binging on Netflix!)
4. Create a To-Do List
Writing down (or typing out) a daily or weekly to-do list will help with organization because you will be able to physically see what you need to accomplish. I don’t know about you, but if I’m not writing things down, I will forget them completely. Plus, I love the feeling of being able to check an item off once I complete it. There’s something satisfying about it! If you haven’t already checked out the planner I recommended above, it has the BEST spaces for to-do lists!
5. Utilize Organizational Tools
Bins, binders, folders, white boards, etc. are easy and affordable tools to use for organizing. There are a million ways to utilize each item and personalize it. Pinterest is a good place to look for office organization inspiration. You can make it fun and cute too!
